This week we explore five edges of grace - or a pentagon of grace.  The five edges are Jesus's five parables in today's gospel lesson - apologies for the singing on the sermon - it was much better in community. 

The sermon explores Jesus teaching on how to cope with evil.  The church, to its great disgrace, hasn't followed his advice on many occasions.  The sermon suggests way we are able to do so.

This sermon explores hinderances to the word of God taking root in us and bringing forth the abundance of God Kingdom of peace and justice.  We explore the good soil, the hard packed path, stones in the field and thorns that choke the the new grown seeds. 

The sermon recording starts a bit into the sermon.  The sermon began with a discussion of good soil as freshly turned Kansas earth with its life giving aroma.  Then we explore how a group of youth from Olathe, Kansas advocated for a life that is alcohol and drug free.  The story was share by Janine Gracy who is the director of the Johnson county Regional Prevention Center at the Kansas citizen's committee I chaired last week.

This sermon explore Jesus' teaching in Matthew 11 about how he lives and teaches a wisdom from God, we in turn as his disciples are called to respond to the gospel by pursuing wisdom in our own lives.   We also explore a couple of spiritual practices.
